A COMING OF AGE MEMOIR
This book is a retelling of a coming of age story that thematically travels from the author’s origin in Ethiopia to the United States, Europe and other places back to Ethiopia. As we trace the author s developmental stages, educational journey, adulthood and professional life, the reader is mesmerized with a life of adventure, challenges, periods of longings for home and a settled and successful life back in his homeland.
About the Author: Born in Asebe Teferi and raised in Gore and Addis Ababa, Aklilu left for the United States in 1978 for graduate studies. He returned to Ethiopia in 1992 where he taught at Addis Ababa University for four years, and subsequently started a private public health research center based in Addis Ababa. He retired from teaching and research in December 2015.
